Welcome to MillennialChild.com
We hope to serve as a contemporary resource for people interested in educating children in the twenty-first century. Our foundation rests on Waldorf education, and we enthusiastically acknowledge that the Waldorf method is based on Anthroposophy, a worldview promulgated by Rudolf Steiner. Rather than proscribing narrow limits to the scope of this web site, Steiner's approach serves as a springboard for understanding and embracing all that serves the true needs of the modern child. We hope that millennialchild.com is helpful to all educators and parents who visit it.
Waldorf Consulting: Having graduated his third eighth grade class, Eugene Schwartz is now sharing his thirty years' experience
in Waldorf education. He is now serving full time as a Waldorf consultant, mentor, and lecturer. For more information about Eugene,
visit his Biography. To discuss a visit to your school or home schooling group, e-mail him at info@millennialchild.com or call him at 845-558-7401.
Hanukkah and Advent: The celebration of Advent is often a contentious issue in Waldorf schools, raising questions that otherwise lie dormant
about the relationship of Christianity to Judaism and other religions practiced by families in the school. Eugene Schwartz is one of the few Waldorf
teachers to have addressed these issues in depth.
Visit the Online Catalog and look for CDs 119, 120, and 121 for the fullest exposition ever given concerning religion in the Waldorf
School, and then click here to learn about CD recordings of Hanukkah and Advent stories suitable to be told at Waldorf assemblies
or at home. You can also read excerpts from most of the stories at Hanukkah and Advent stories.
Essential Conferences: We will be expanding the schedule of Essential Conferences for the Summer of 2007.
We will be pleased to offer conferences for teachers of grades 5 through 8, as well as a river trip and conferences
for prospective teachers and parents and board retreats. For a look at next summer's schedule and photos of this
past summer's conference, as well as a map of the Deer Hill conference site, visit www.essentialwaldorf.com/index.html
